About the Society of Singers Choir
Sharing the Gift of Song
Our choir has been singing together since 1972 as a non-profit group of about 40 friendly voices from all levels of expertise. Our mission is to bring the gift of music into the lives of seniors. Our fellowship is through singing and we are all uplifted through the fulfillment of our mission.
No auditions are necessary to join our group! All you need is a love of singing and the ability to carry a tune and follow along with the music. Our Musical Director, Mr. Peter Ness, is a wonderful teacher.
We perform concerts once or twice a month at seniors’ homes and hospitals. Our four-part repertoire ranges from classical to popular with seasonal and ethnic pieces to suit the time of year and the concert venue.
Rehearsals take place from September to June on Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Blythwood Church, 80 Blythwood Road, Toronto Lawrence Park, North Toronto area where there is a lovely rehearsal venue and free parking. It is also within easy walking distance from Yonge Street.
Please feel free to drop by and talk with us personally on any Wednesday starting September or Contact Us using the tab above.
